Mock exams - are you prepared?

ozyoung123

It's that time of year when English Language and Literature mock exams are either happening or are looming.

But are mocks important? Well, yes. They are very useful indicators of a student's current grade and can help to identify areas that need further study. If a student's GCSE target grade is 7 but the mock result is 5, it may highlight the need for more consistent, organised study and, possibly, the need for further support.

So, it's worth revising for your mocks. Ensure you know what is being assessed on your mock exam paper (don't assume you know!), and revise the texts. If you can, look at the exam criteria, particularly for your target grade. In the exam, remember to underline the key words in each question to ensure you write a focused response. In addition, don't forget to plan (this is essential!) for longer, essay-style answers.

Good luck!
